Scope

Web4WeB Workshop 2008 is an International workshop on Semantic Web technologies. Distinguished EU researchers and West Balkan regional experts will share their vision and experience with workshop participants. All sorts of stakeholders (researchers, students, IT professionals) from the West Balkan region are welcomed to register for the workshop. This including ones that are already familiar with the Semantic Web field and those that are just starting to work in this field.


Call for papers

All interested parties from the West Balkan countries, i.e. researchers, students, IT professionals are encouraged to send papers on their research and/or work in the field of Semantic Web. Authors of accepted papers will have opportunity to present them at the workshop. The papers will also be published in the proceedings on a CD.


Registration

If you want to submit a paper please use the Submission form.

You can apply for attending the workshop without submitting a paper using Application form.

As the number of places is limited, we encourage you to register by submitting a paper.

The registration is free for all participants.


Topics

As this workshop aims to gather all researchers from the West Balkan countries who are working in the field of Semantic Web any topic from the Semantic Web field is appropriate. The topic of the paper could be from one of the following areas of research:

  • Knowledge Engineering / Ontology Engineering
  • Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
  • Basic Web Information Technologies
  • Information Access
  • Ontologies on the Semantic Web
  • Rules
  • Security / Trust / Privacy in the Semantic Web
  • Application Domains
  • Special Topics

These topics are digested from the Semantic Web Topic Hierarchy.


Full paper submission

After acceptance of the paper, which is based on abstracts, the full papers must be submitted. Submissions must be original and must not have been submitted for publication elsewhere. Full articles can be submitted in pdf of doc formats, and should follow the IEEE formating. This template (Image:Template for Paper.doc) from IEEE can be used for preparing the paper. The articles will be published in the proceedings of the workshop on the CD.
